Talk Title
The Fashion Industry is Finally Ready for People with Disabilities
Talk Description
Erica Cole lost her leg suddenly in 2018. Erica tells us how embracing her new normal led her to stumble into a brand new category within apparel: adaptive, meaning designed for people with disabilities. Simple alterations created profound improvements in how she was able to dress herself while using a prosthesis, but there was hardly anything commercially available. Eric describes how after thousands of years of homemade alterations, the fashion industry is finally recognizing the opportunity of serving people with disabilities.
